I've only had a couple days so far with my H1 but so far I am absolutely LOVING IT with my Carmen Ghia! I know it's not broken in yet but after logging a few hours on it I already feel like this is the perfect speaker for my Ghia! A Celestion Blue was just too bright and a Greenback was good but just didn't have that alnico mojo and I never could get on with the V30's mid range honk. But the H1 is really doing it for me! I'll report back after it's got substantial break in time on it but I'm confident the tone will only get better. ;D ;D

Hey Scotty.. I'm a dunce. ..with my Blackberry, I accidentally clicked "Modify" instead of "Reply" this morning. That's why your original post says it was edited by me. What I meant to say was: Welcome to the H1 Family! Yes, that speaker will only get better and better. ;D

Oy... unfortunately I've been really busy the last week so I've not had much playing time. In fact my entire house got ceramic tile and new carpet this weekend so all my git-fiddles and amps have been tucked in a corner for safe keeping. I can tell you one thing though from moving all that stuff around.... I LOVE the light weight of that pine TT cabinet vs my Z 1x12 convertible cab!

Happy new floors Scotty... I know that feeling! I bought my Grandmothers house a year ago this past august and have been remodeling every since. This whole house is still discombobulated! But I'm getting there.. Glad you're liking that light pine cab and that TT. You'll be able to play it in style now. ;D

So maybe I'm crazy but to me the H1 sounds like a higher wattage, alnico greenback. I like it! Does anybody else hear that or is it just me?

Maybe, in a very general sense.. yes. The Greenback is known to be warm and woody, with a little mid-peak. The H1 is warm and smooth by my calculation.. flatter freq response than any speaker I've used. Considering that both are "warm" and less efficient than average.. I could agree [kinda].

Well I've had nothing better to do today than beat up on the old strat trying (unsuccessfully) to write a groove around an Asus4#5. I gave up and decided to do some speaker swapping and put a G12h30 in my Dr Z 1x12. After about 10 minutes I switched back to my H1 loaded TT cab. I LOVE that speaker!
Creamy mids, tight lows and I'm not sure even how to describe the highs other than "perfect". The H1 is a keeper for sure!

I have a 2x12 Fender Supersonic cab loaded with 1 - TT Alnico with H1 cone and 1 - TT 40/40 Ceramic with H1E cone. This is a great setup. I have tried many speakers over the past few years and imo, nothing sounds as good as the Tone Tubby's. They are so warm, sweet, and well balanced, it is rediculous.
I couldn't be happier. ;D

Don't be jealous. There is a purpose in my madness. It makes me terrified, actually. How or why I think I can make an artsy product that will sell in this market is a mystery to me.
