Today is new (to me) amp day! Picked up an early 90s tweed Fender Blues Deluxe in a trade. Only had the time to play for a few minutes but I'm digging it. It has a Vintage 30 in it and Mesa Booger 12ax7s. I'm thinking a tube swap is n order and that this may be the perfect excuse to buy my first Tubby! My speaker stable include a Blue, UK greenback, G12H30 and now a V30. But the only one of those that can handle a 40 watt amp is the V30. Sorry for the lengthy post... . Will report back after some more playing time!

Congratulations on the amp Scotty. It's definately time for a Tubby bro.. Since the amps is 40 watts, the San Reafael is out.. a 40/40 Ceramic would be loud and strong. But, I'm thinking that amp needs an Alnico for sure. It'll be warm, airy, and so smooth... Let us know what you decide.

So far I dig the clean sounds of this amp. The drive channel is utterly useless to me but clean with the reverb it's quite useful, and it takes pedals well. Really like it with some fuzz. Don't know if it will stick around forever but I dig it. I would recommend one if a good deal can be had.

congrats Scotty....I had a Blues Deville, blonde tolex 410 as my first "real" tube amp. I loved it, it was super loud though! Not much in the way of a dirt channel but nice spanky cleans. By the time the amp was breaking up though, it was way to friggin loud. That was then. I have a Maz Jr now, with Tone Tubby 40/40...great combo!
