Just built the ultimate Tone Tubby cabinet setup for a local player.
Two matching cabinets, both custom Tone Tubby 4x10" pine cabinets with the standard Tone Tubby oval port semi-open back and blonde tolex covering with wheat grille cloth.
First cabinet was loaded with 2x each Tone Tubby AlNiCo 10" and Ceramic 10" speakers.
Second cabinet was loaded with a 15" baffle and a 15" Tone Tubby Super Boy Bass 15".
OMG, this is THE speaker setup! I wired the 4x10" with my 3-jack linked-parallel wiring, so he can play just the AlNiCo 10s, just the Ceramic 10s, or all four at the same time.
Coupled with the 15", this setup just rocks!
Wow, I think I need to build me a 15" TT cab now!

So, the 15" Super Boy sounds good with the oval port.. and for guitar tones?!! Does it sound huge in the bass frequencies? ..would it sound good alone, or does it need to be paired with some 10" or 12" speakers?.. This opens up new possibilities for us six-stringers. Nice report Scott.. thanks for the scoop. I'd love to see and hear that thing.

Moves more air, adds depth and pairs well with the TT 10's, which tend to be punchier and brighter.
I got the idea from one of Carlos Santana's TT cabinets that I checked out at the TT factory last year. Most of us know about his 4x12" AlNiCo TT cabinet, but on one of my visits to the TT factory I got to see his newest (at the time) TT cabinet. Two (2x) Ceramic 12's on top with a Super Boy Bass 15" on the bottom.
