Well you guys have got me gripped by the Tele bug now. I have a slightly flamed, Fat C, 7 1/4" radius, one piece, quarter sawn, maple neck from Musikraft being finished in gloss nitro ordered along with a 1 piece, 4.1 lb swamp ash body being finished in Mary Kay Vintage Blond, not white as well... I'm gonna put the Callaham parts and Fralin pickups I got for my 52 RI on it and hope for the best. I know it will look good...I just hope it sounds as good as this 52 RI! I'll keep this updated. The neck & body should be here in about 3 weeks...

Building my USACG Esquire was the best 'music' decision I've ever made. The best tone and feel of any guitar I've ever touched.. I'm sure yours will turn-out great Mark! You can't go wrong Callaham! ..it's all I used for hardware.

I'm not sure who makes those tuners.. but I haven't had any problems with them. I know that Callaham does a few things to them before they are "approved" for use. I love Callaham's stuff.. His philosophy, attention to quality, and customer service rival any builder I've ever used! ;D

Mark I absolutely cannot wait to see some pics of that thing! I seen your post on Ztalk regarding the Musikraft stuff and I got looking at their site....I think you are going to have one sweet guitar when it;s all said and done. Let us know how it goes. The Mary Kaye finish will be super sexy no doubt! Going white or black guard??

thanks Mark! Man I cannot wait to see your tele! I am just as excited as you are! lol...well then...that's pretty excited!! I think I'm gonna put the 52RI back stock today and be ready for the neck & body when they get here. I'm not really looking forward to it because this 52 really is sounding good and I'm bonding with it nicely. My plan is when I get the new one put together, if it turns out the way I want, sell the 52 and recoup my funds. I'd like to keep it, but I have too many awesome guitars. I only need one GREAT Tele...

52RI back in stock condition. Sounds good, but not near as good as it did with the Callaham bridge assembly and the Fralins. Also, the bridge feels so much better than the stock, with those sharp screws sticking up. ... The Callaham flat top knobs felt better too and are taller thus, easier to manipulate. Hopefully the neck and body will be here next week or the week after.

I could see that for sure, the bridge would make a small diff and yes those screws can be a son of a gun on the hands. Taller knobs are nice too...would like to try a set sometime.

Well...The pickups seem to be the biggest part, however, I changed the bridge pickup both times at the same time as the bridge, so I can't say for sure. I know the Callaham bridge is much more solid and the sustain is better...acoustically even... Bummer news on the wood though...I got an email from Brian at Orion that said he just top coated the body yesterday and that it would not be ready to sand & buff for a few more weeks! I'm sure it will be worth the wait......I hope!
