This is Scott at SVVA and I'm really happy to see another Tone Tubby forum fired up (thanks Corey!)! Hope we can get some interesting conversations going and have some fun talking "Tubs"!
So, here's a funny story for you. How I almost did NOT become a Tone Tubby dealer.
About 7 years ago, the guy that covered the Tone Tubby cabinets at the Tone Tubby factory showed up in my shop unannounced . He wanted to sell me on this "great new line of speakers" ... yeah right, I thought. Anyway, I'm not very big on unannounced sales calls and I was really busy repairing amps that day, so he said he'd just leave a couple speakers for me to try out when I had the time.
Well, they sat around for several weeks until I finally thought, oh heck might as well get it over with, check them out and tell the guy to come pick them up. Wow, did I almost make the wrong call ... this was the first "new" line of speakers I had heard in years that just plain knocked me out!
Signed up right away! I was one of the first (if not the first) dealer to sign up with Tone Tubby and today I'm the highest volume TT dealer in the US. Even helped out in the TT booth at the NAMM show a couple of years. Did it for free (they didn't pay me) and I spent several days helping them sign up new dealers (e.g. competitors!) .... how's that for dedication to the brand!
Scott is the real deal. Do not call him without having pen and paper at hand for taking notes. He is a veritable fountain of knowledge. I would hang out in his shop if it were not about twenty five hundred miles away.
Some days even my lucky rocket ship underpants don't help … Calvin
