Hi all. I'm a new member. I've started dabbling with building a small cabinet for my "bedroom" practicing. I have a 6" speaker designed on paper but after seeing the Hemptone ad in Vintage Guitar magazine I'm thinking of changing the cab size to house an 8" speaker. The cabinet will be used mainly for practicing low volume jazz guitar.
Are the specs for the 8" speaker, 8 ohm speaker on the website?

I have the same specs as Scott has on his website. I am not going to quote them until A Brown Soun publishes them though. I will say from personal experience, a single ended amp (I have an Emery Sound Superbaby) with a 6V6 ( can you say Champ on steroids? ), and the 8" AlNiCo San Rafael is a tone monster. I have mostly played with an open baffle, which is pretty much just a plank, not a box in any way. See this article for an idea of what I mean. www.lowther-america.com/page2/page12/page20/page20.htmlThe 8" has an incredible frequency response range making it a nice full range driver for HiFi experiments. I would put its efficiency rating between the Red Tone Tubby and a ceramic San Rafael. Which is to say that it is more efficient than one might expect from an 8" speaker.
