I found myself in the odd position of not having a speaker cabinet this week, ironically (I build cabinets). I won't bore you with the details as to why. All my amps are heads, except for my Peavey Bandit which is a 100 watt SS combo. I never use it. Not really sure why I even bought it We had a gig last night in a small club, 200 people, maybe. I took my Peavey bandit and it was really good. Not great, but surprisingly good. I ran it clean and used a Fulltone OCD for crunch and a modified Danelectro Daddy-O for leads (don't laugh, it sounds great) as well as a tremolo and delay pedal. I got the Peavey on ebay for $130. I took out the piece of garbage speaker and replaced it with an old EV Force 12 that I paid $100 for. I gotta tell you guys, for a $230 amp, this thing is awesome. Heck, it sounds good at any price, really. It's really smooth for a SS amp. Dirt pedals sound great through it. And it's more than loud enough. What's my point? I'm not sure, but I have spent a lot of money on boutique amps in my day. When you get on stage and crank things up the differences between budget and boutique don't seem as significant.

Dave, my first amp was a 10w SS Squire.. My second amp was a 60w SS Peavey Bandit (mid 90's). At the time, I thought it was THE STUFF. I'm glad your trusty SS backup got'cha through a gig. ;D

I know a few guys that used to play around here that swore by those Bandits. They sounded great to me too.

I would grab one again in a heartbeat as a back up or practice amp. The old Bandit 65 was my favorite
